About Mike
Mike Ethridge is the founder of the Palmetto Children’s Legal Services, and he currently serves as the president of the board of directors for that orginization. Mike is a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the Children’s Rights Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina State Bar Association’s Children’s Law Committee, and the South Carolina Children’s Justice Act Task Force.

Mike is a partner in the law firm of Carlock, Copeland, Semler & Stair. As a civil trial lawyer he has litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout Georgia and South Carolina, serving as lead counsel in numerous jury trials in both states. For the past several years, Mike has devoted a significant amount of time to special education advocacy and the representation of children in judical and administrative hearings.
Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of Charleston County’s Communities in Schools. He is also a member of the Charleston Rotary Club where he serves on the education committee and directs a reading program for children in an inner city school. Mike is a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he serves on the missions committee.
Mike is a 1988 graduate of the University of Georgia Law School and also holds a Masters of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
